This is the transcription of a beautiful holograph manuscript in a clear and legible script, a diary of the Grand Tour in Italy undertaken in 1790 by a young artist, then eighteen years old, accompanied by his father. He described and illustrated the account of the places and beauties he admired with 46 magnificent watercolour drawings, to show it to his sisters and friends upon his return.
